The Space

Downstairs, you’ll find a cozy and spacious layout, perfect for both relaxation and comfort. The first bedroom features two king singles, ideal for guests who prefer separate beds. Just across the hall is a comfortable living room equipped with a TV, making it a perfect spot to unwind or enjoy a quiet evening in. The main bedroom is a true retreat, complete with a large ensuite featuring a luxurious spa bath and a walk-in wardrobe, offering plenty of space to settle in.

The expansive living room downstairs opens directly into the garden, where you’ll be able to enjoy a beautiful view and step right onto the beach. With a comfortable seating area and a TV, this space is perfect for lounging or gathering together after a day of exploring.

The kitchen, located downstairs, is fully equipped to cater to all your culinary needs. It opens up to the dining area and features two ovens, a dishwasher, a coffee machine, and all the pots and pans necessary for preparing family meals. The patio, which is just off the kitchen and dining area, offers an outdoor dining table with seating, making it the ideal spot to enjoy meals outside and enjoy the view of the water, the beach and the garden. A large BBQ is also available for cooking up delicious outdoor feasts.

Upstairs, the home offers a dedicated retreat for the big kids. Complete with a Play Station 5, games, and books, this space is perfect for some fun downtime. The balcony overlooks the beach, providing a perfect spot to relax. Upstairs also features two bedrooms, one with two singles and a double bed, and another with a double bed, sharing a bathroom. You will also find a bar fridge upstairs located in the cupboard labelled ‘fridge’. A sofa bed is available upon request, bringing the total occupancy to 12 guests.

For the adventure seekers, two stand-up paddleboards, two kayaks, life jackets, and paddles are provided for you to enjoy the water. Two bikes are also available to explore the scenic Encounter bike track or head into Victor Harbor to visit the local markets. Please note that any of these activities are at your own risk and you agree to these terms when you finalise your reservation.

Guest Access

Guests have full access to the entire property, with the exception of the carport, which is not included in the booking. The home is completely private, offering a peaceful and exclusive stay. You’ll also have access to the beach, which is shared with only a couple of neighboring properties, perfect for a quiet coastal escape.\

During your stay, you’re welcome to enjoy the kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and bikes provided. It’s a great way to explore the water and nearby bike trails, including the scenic route into Victor Harbor. Please note that all water activities are at your own risk.

Neighborhood

Sandy Shores is nestled in the peaceful coastal town of Encounter Bay, just a 5-minute drive or bike ride from the heart of Victor Harbor. The property sits right on the lake, which is beautifully fed from the ocean, offering a serene waterfront setting with direct beach access.

The area is quiet and relaxed, surrounded by nature and just a stone’s throw from scenic bike tracks, cafes, and local attractions. As the lake is home to a small number of private residences, we kindly ask that guests respect the neighbours and keep noise to a minimum, especially between 10pm and 8am.

Other things to note

– A sofa bed is available upon request if you need extra sleeping space (up to 12 guests total).
– Please note, a $35 per extra guest fee applies after the 5th guest.
– All TVs in the home are smart TVs with streaming options — just log into your accounts and enjoy!
– The beach is shared with only a few nearby properties, so please be mindful and respectful of others.
– Water equipment (kayaks, paddleboards, life jackets) is provided, but all use is at your own risk.
– Erik the dragon lives in the garden, he’s been here since the beginning of time, so keep an eye out for him!
– Quiet hours are from 10pm to 8am, thank you for helping us keep the peaceful vibes alive.
– The carport is not accessible to guests, but there is space for parking on the drive way for up to four cars.

Getting Around

You can easily walk to nearby beaches and a local café for a relaxed start to your day. To reach the town centre of Victor Harbor, a car or bike is recommended. It’s just a short drive or a scenic ride along the Encounter bike track, making it easy to explore shops, markets, and local attractions.

While you’re there, don’t miss the iconic horse-drawn tram to Granite Island, a must-do experience with stunning ocean views. Hike up The Bluff for panoramic coastal scenery, and swing by The Yilki Store for great coffee, supplies, and a bite to eat – open every day 6-6.
